It's finally the weekend again and Jeron's been here a little over a week. It's been good, but I'll admit, a little tiring. He's definitely been an easy guest though. He's perfectly content doing next to nothing most of the time and just every once in a while going out. We spent last weekend trapsing around seoul seeing various different little tourist stuff. We went to Namsan park Sat. to see some traditional houses in a park first. A volunteer man working there informed us of a traditional wedding ceremony, so we happily headed over there at the appropriate time. It was interesting as we sat watching and taking pictures every so often. I don't know exactly when though, but we both began wondering if it was really staged or not. We talked to some high school students outside afterwards and that's when we found out it really was real. That explained why everyone there really did look so nervous! Nothing like 2 random white folk to crash a person's wedding either!
We went to a palace and park last Sun. The buildings were amazing and we strolled around the park just looking at everything. It amazes me how ornate any traditional building seems everytime when I see them. Little edges and corners coming together everywhere and flowers and traditional images painted on everything. I took some pictures, but I highly doubt they'll quite capture the real beauty of some of the structure. As we were walking around too, we noticed a bizarre amount of women and kids walking around in han-boks (traditional fancy clothing). Soon after noticing, we came across a tea ceremony contest taking place in the park we were in. Pretty cool. We sat and watched for a while as the women of all ages competed and enjoyed themselves. The ceremony itself is rather solemn, but outside of that they were smiling and laughing all over the place.

More to come.....later
